## Biography

Jeremy Scahill is an American investigative journalist and author. He appears as himself in the documentary *Citizenfour* (2014), directed by Laura Poitras, which covers the NSA surveillance disclosures by Edward Snowden. He is also credited as writer and appears in the 2013 documentary *Dirty Wars*, which he co-produced with Richard Rowley.

Scahill co-founded the online news publication The Intercept. His other work includes the book *Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army*.
