## Biography

Jerry Gross (1940–2002) was an American film producer and distributor active in independent and exploitation cinema. He produced *Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song* (1971) with Melvin Van Peebles and *I Drink Your Blood* (1971).

Gross founded Cinemation Industries and later the Jerry Gross Organization. He specialised in sensational marketing for grindhouse and drive-in releases, including *I Spit on Your Grave* (1978) and *The Boogey Man* (1980). He also handled distribution for other independent titles.

Born in New York City, Gross attended New York City College. He died in Los Angeles in 2002.
