## Biography

Jerry Sohl (1913–2002) was an American science fiction author and television scriptwriter. He worked as a journalist in the Midwest before turning to fiction and screenwriting in the 1950s.

Sohl wrote more than twenty novels, including *The Haploids* (1952) and *The Transcendent Man* (1953). His television credits include episodes of *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*, *The Outer Limits*, *The Invaders* and three episodes of *Star Trek* (one credited under the pseudonym Nathan Butler). He ghostwrote three episodes of *The Twilight Zone* for Charles Beaumont: "The New Exhibit", "Queen of the Nile" and "Living Doll".
