## Biography

Jerry Tokofsky was an American agent, film producer and studio executive. He began his career as an agent and by the 1960s had become a studio executive at Columbia Pictures, serving as a vice-president in 1966 and later heading its creative affairs department.

Tokofsky produced *Where's Poppa?* (1970) for United Artists. In 1986, with Stanley Zupnik, he acquired the film rights to David Mamet's play *Glengarry Glen Ross* for $1 million. He produced the resulting 1992 film for New Line Cinema. His other credits include co-producer on *Dreamscape* (1984) and *Fear City* (1984), and producer on *The Grass Harp* (1995).

Tokofsky was born in Brooklyn, New York City, on 14 April 1934 and died in New York City on 5 October 2025.
