## Biography

Jerzy Gruza (1932–2020) was a Polish director and screenwriter. Born in Warsaw, he worked extensively in film and television, directing and writing numerous Polish productions.

He received a co-screenwriting credit on Jerzy Skolimowski’s *Deep End* (1971), alongside Skolimowski and Bolesław Sulik. Among his best-known works are the television series and films *Motylem jestem, czyli romans czterdziestolatka* (1976) and *Pierścień i róża* (1987).
