## Biography

Jerzy Zieliński is a Polish cinematographer. Born on 8 January 1950 in Szczecin, he graduated from the National Film School in Łódź and began his career in Polish cinema in the 1970s.

His breakthrough came with *Aria for an Athlete* (1979). He made his first English-language feature, *Cal* (1984), directed by Pat O’Connor, and later collaborated with the director on several films including *Stars and Bars* (1988) and *Private Peaceful* (2012). Zieliński moved to the United States in 1993.

He is known for his work on Hollywood productions such as *Galaxy Quest* (1999), *The Lizzie McGuire Movie* (2003), *DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story* (2004), *The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie* (2004) and *Fun with Dick and Jane* (2005). A member of the American Society of Cinematographers, he retired after credits up to 2018.
