Jess Brownell is a television writer and producer. She has worked at Shondaland since 2008, beginning as an assistant to executive producer Betsy Beers.

She contributed to the writers’ room on *Scandal* (2012), where she advanced from researcher to staff writer, and served as writer and producer on *Inventing Anna* (2022). Brownell joined the *Bridgerton* (2020) writers’ room for its first two seasons and became showrunner for seasons three and four.
