Jess Ransom is a British writer and actress. She wrote episodes for the animated series *The Amazing World of Gumball* in seasons 3 to 6 (2014–2019).

Her other writing credits include episodes of *Elliott from Earth* (2021), the *Danger Mouse* episode "Live and Let Cry" (2017), and later series of *Horrible Histories* and *Horrible Science*. As an actress she is known for playing Morwenna Newcross in the ITV drama *Doc Martin* (2011–2022) and for her work on *Horrible Histories*, for which she won a Children's BAFTA Award for Performer in 2015.

Born Jessica Audrey Ransom in Sheffield in 1981, she studied at the University of Birmingham before beginning her career in sketch comedy and television.
