Martindale wrote four episodes of the action series *Dempsey and Makepeace* (1985), credited as Jesse Carr-Martindale. He contributed to other British series including two episodes of *Gems* (1985), one episode of *The Bill* (1989, as J.C. Martindale), one episode of *Soldier Soldier* (1993), and an adaptation for *The Enid Blyton Adventure Series* (1996). He also wrote the 1985 novelisation *Make Peace, Not War*, a tie-in to *Dempsey and Makepeace*.
