## Biography

Jill Baker is a British actress. A graduate of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, she made her screen debut in the 1975 television film *Savages* and has worked extensively in theatre and television since then.

Her film roles include Faith in *Hope and Glory* (1987), Lady De Lesseps in *Shakespeare in Love* (1998), Sheba's mother in *Notes on a Scandal* (2006), Betty in *Salmon Fishing in the Yemen* (2011) and Violet in *Tower Block* (2012). On television she has appeared in *Only Fools and Horses* (1981), *Midsomer Murders* (2011), *Happy Valley* (2014–2016) and *EastEnders* (2014–2015). She has also performed in West End and RSC productions.

Baker was married to actor Bob Peck from 1982 until his death in 1999; they had three children.
