## Biography

Jim Drake was an American film and television director. He began his career in 1974 as an associate director on the Norman Lear sitcoms *All in the Family* and *Good Times*. His solo directorial debut came with episodes of the series *Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman*.

Drake directed episodes of numerous television series, including *The Facts of Life*, *Newhart*, *Night Court*, *Who's the Boss?*, *The Golden Girls* (1985), *Dave's World*, *The Suite Life of Zack & Cody* (2005) and its spin-off *The Suite Life on Deck* (2008). His feature film credits include *Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol* (1987) and *Speed Zone* (1989). He was an alumnus of Columbia University and Stanford University. Drake received Primetime Emmy nominations for his work on *Buffalo Bill* and *The Golden Girls*, and Directors Guild of America nominations for *SCTV Network* and *Buffalo Bill*.

He died on 10 January 2022 in Freeland, Washington.
