Jim Margolis is an American television producer, writer and director. He attended Wesleyan University until 1993.

He worked at *The Daily Show* from 2001 to 2012, first as a field producer and later as co-executive producer. Margolis served as writer and co-executive producer on *Veep* in 2016, and has writing credits on *Childrens Hospital* (2016) and other series including *Newsreaders* and *Blunt Talk*. He was showrunner and executive producer of *Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj*.

Margolis has won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on *The Daily Show* and *Veep*, and a Writers Guild of America Award for *Veep*.
