## Biography

Jim McElroy is an Australian film producer. Born in Melbourne in 1946, he entered the industry in the late 1960s and, with his twin brother Hal, formed the production company McElroy & McElroy in 1971.

The brothers' early credits include *The Cars That Ate Paris* (1974), *Picnic at Hanging Rock* (1975) and *The Last Wave* (1977), all directed by Peter Weir. McElroy later produced Weir's *The Year of Living Dangerously* (1982). After the brothers dissolved their partnership in 1992, his further credits include *Traps* (1994), *Mr. Reliable* (1996) and *Dear Claudia* (1999).
