Jim Prior is a film and television editor. He began his career in the 1980s as an assistant editor on feature films including *Ferris Bueller's Day Off* (1986), *Planes, Trains and Automobiles* (1987) and *The Lost Boys* (1987).

He progressed to editing credits on *Dying Young* (1991), *The Babysitter* (1995) and *Hellraiser: Bloodline* (1996). Prior was one of the principal editors on the television series *Xena: Warrior Princess* (1995–2000), responsible for 56 episodes.
