## Biography

Jimmy Sangster was a Welsh screenwriter and film director. Born in Kinmel Bay, North Wales, he entered the film industry at the age of 16 as a clapper boy and projectionist. He worked as an assistant director and production manager before joining Hammer Films, where he began writing screenplays.

Sangster wrote the screenplays for several Hammer horror films, including *The Curse of Frankenstein* (1957), *Dracula* (1958), *The Mummy* (1959) and *The Brides of Dracula* (1960). He later directed two Hammer productions, *The Horror of Frankenstein* (1970) and *Lust for a Vampire* (1971). His television writing credits include episodes of *The Six Million Dollar Man* and *Wonder Woman*. He also wrote novels and a memoir.
