Joanne Samuel is an Australian actress. She was born on 5 August 1957 in Camperdown, Sydney.

Samuel made her screen debut in 1973 and appeared in guest roles in the police procedurals *Matlock Police* and *Homicide*. She was a regular cast member in the soap operas *Class of '74*, *The Sullivans* and *The Young Doctors*. Her character was written out of *The Young Doctors* to allow her to play Jessie Rockatansky, the wife of Mel Gibson's Max, in the 1979 film *Mad Max*.

She later appeared in *Skyways*, *The Wiggles Movie* (1997) and *My Pet Dinosaur* (2017). Samuel trained in dance and drama, and has worked as a director and producer.
