## Biography

Jocelyn Moorhouse is an Australian film director and screenwriter. She was born on 4 September 1960 in Melbourne and graduated from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School in 1984.

Moorhouse made her feature debut with *Proof* (1991), which she wrote and directed. She produced *Muriel's Wedding* (1994), directed by her husband P. J. Hogan, and went on to direct the Hollywood films *How to Make an American Quilt* (1995) and *A Thousand Acres* (1997). Later credits include writing and directing *The Dressmaker* (2015) and directing television series such as *Stateless* (2020) and *Boy Swallows Universe* (2024). She has also collaborated with Hogan as producer on *Mental* (2012).
