## Biography

Joe Baker was an English comedian, voice artist and character actor. Born Joseph William Anthony Cunningham in London on 14 December 1928, he was the son of British vaudevillians and began performing pantomime and stand-up in London clubs and cabarets while still young. He appeared in West End stage shows and starred in his own BBC television series, including *The Joe Baker Show* (1965) and *Baker's Half Dozen* (1967).

Baker moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1970s and worked in American film and television. His film roles include Jenkins in *Waxwork* (1988), Lawrence Tibbett in *Bugsy* (1991), an angry villager in *Robin Hood: Men in Tights* (1993) and Barnard in *Dumb and Dumber* (1994). He voiced Lon in Disney's *Pocahontas* (1995). He died in Los Angeles on 16 May 2001.
