## Biography

Joe Carnahan is an American film director and screenwriter. He made his feature debut with the low-budget independent film *Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane* (1998), which screened at the Sundance Film Festival. His subsequent directing credits include the crime thrillers *Narc* (2002), *Smokin' Aces* (2006), *The A-Team* (2010) and *The Grey* (2011).

Carnahan directed the pilot and other episodes of the NBC series *The Blacklist* (2013), for which he also received story and teleplay credits. Later feature work includes *Boss Level* (2021), *Copshop* (2021) and *The Rip* (2026), on which he served as director, story writer and screenwriter. He is the brother of screenwriter Matthew Michael Carnahan.
