Joe Raposo (also credited as Joseph Guilherme Raposo) was an American composer, lyricist and songwriter. He was born on 8 February 1937 in Fall River, Massachusetts, and died on 5 February 1989.

He composed the theme song and numerous songs for the children's television series *Sesame Street*, as well as music for *The Electric Company*, *Shining Time Station* and the sitcoms *Three's Company* and *The Ropers*. His film work includes the score for *Nashville* (1975) and songs and music for *The Great Muppet Caper* (1981) and *Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure* (1977). He also composed for three Dr. Seuss television specials: *Halloween Is Grinch Night* (1977), *Pontoffel Pock, Where Are You?* (1980) and *The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat* (1982).
