## Biography

Joel Collins is a British production designer and executive producer. He began his career in the early 1990s as a creature designer at Jim Henson's Creature Shop, working on films including *The Flintstones* (1994) and *Muppet Treasure Island* (1996).

He collaborated with the directing duo Hammer & Tongs on *The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy* (2005) and *Son of Rambow* (2007). In 2007 he co-founded the creative studio Painting Practice. Collins served as series production designer on *Black Mirror* (2011–2017) across 19 episodes, overseeing design, graphics and visual effects for the anthology series.

He later worked as production designer and executive producer on *His Dark Materials* (2019–2022). Collins has received multiple BAFTA nominations and awards for production design and visual effects.
