Joel Murray is an American actor born on 17 April 1963 in Wilmette, Illinois. He is the younger brother of actors Bill Murray, Brian Doyle-Murray and John Murray.

He trained in improvisation in Chicago with Del Close and was a founding member of the Improv Olympic. He performed for five years with The Second City and appeared in numerous television series, including regular roles on *Grand*, *Pacific Station*, *Love & War*, *Dharma & Greg* and *Still Standing*.

Murray has recurred on *Mad Men* as Freddy Rumsen, *Shameless* as Eddie Jackson and *Two and a Half Men*. Film roles include *The Artist* (2011) as Policeman Fire, *God Bless America* (2011) and the voice of Don in *Monsters University* (2013).
