## Biography

John Bach is a British-born New Zealand actor. Born on 5 June 1946 in Wales, he has worked in stage, television and film for more than four decades, primarily in New Zealand after emigrating as a child.

He is known for playing the Ancient Einstein in the science-fiction series *Farscape* (1999–2003) and its miniseries sequel *Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars* (2004). Other credits include the recurring role of Madril in *The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers* (2002) and *The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King* (2003), and the title role of Detective Inspector John Duggan in the New Zealand telemovies and series *Duggan* (1997–1999). He has also appeared in *Spartacus* (2010) as Magistrate Calavius and in *Wentworth* (2013) as Vinnie Holt.
