John Bennett (also credited as John Bennet) was an English actor. He was born on 8 May 1928 in Beckenham, Kent, and died on 11 April 2005 in London. He was educated at Bradfield College in Berkshire and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, followed by repertory theatre work including at the Bristol Old Vic and in London's West End.

Bennett appeared in numerous films and television productions. His film roles include an uncredited Arab Sheik in *Lawrence of Arabia* (1962), Captain Holly (voice) in *Watership Down* (1978), a priest in *The Fifth Element* (1997), Dr Ehrlich in *The Pianist* (2002) and Adulation #4 in *Minority Report* (2002). On television he played Li H'sen Chang and General Finch in *Doctor Who* (1963), Salool in *The Message* (1976) and an elderly priest in *Rome* (2005). He also had an extensive stage career.
