## Biography

John Bishop is an English comedian, presenter and actor. Born in Liverpool in 1966, he began performing stand-up in the early 2000s after working in sales and as a semi-professional footballer.

He is known for television series including *Skins* (2007–2010) as Rob Fitch, *Accused* (2010) as Peter Cartwright and *Route Irish* (2010) as Frankie. Bishop played companion Dan Lewis in *Doctor Who* (2021–2022). He has hosted his own comedy and entertainment shows and contributed the story for the 2025 film *Is This Thing On?*.
