John C. Howard was an American film editor. Born on 1 July 1930 in Los Angeles, California, he died on 28 May 1983 in Sherman Oaks, California.

He edited *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid* (1969), sharing the BAFTA Award for Best Editing with Richard C. Meyer. Howard collaborated extensively with director Mel Brooks on *Blazing Saddles* (1974), *Young Frankenstein* (1974), *Silent Movie* (1976), *High Anxiety* (1977) and *History of the World: Part I* (1981). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing for *Blazing Saddles*.
