## Biography

John Chandos (born John Chandos McConnell) was a Scottish actor who appeared in film and television from 1941 to 1969.

He won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1936. During the Second World War he served with the Seaforth Highlanders, the Parachute Regiment and the GHQ Liaison Regiment.

His film roles include Lohrmann in *49th Parallel* (1941), Krantz in *The First of the Few* (1942), Stub Ear in *The Crimson Pirate* (1952) and Dr. Langmann in *The Battle of the River Plate* (1956). He also appeared as Morgan in a 1967 episode of *The Avengers*.
