John Copeland is an American producer and director. Born on 13 October 1950 in San Diego, California, he has worked extensively in television production and direction.

He produced all 111 episodes of the science fiction series *Babylon 5* (1993–1998) and directed three of them. He also produced the related television films *Babylon 5: The Gathering* (1993, as co-producer), *Babylon 5: In the Beginning* (1998), *Babylon 5: Thirdspace* (1998), *Babylon 5: The River of Souls* (1998) and *Babylon 5: A Call to Arms* (1999). Copeland directed one episode of the spin-off series *Crusade* (1999) and produced *Hypernauts* (1996). He has received two Primetime Emmy nominations.
