## Biography

John D. Bloss (1919–1988) was an American assistant director, production manager and occasional actor. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he began his career as a child performer in silent films, including an uncredited role as Boy on Fence in *The Crowd* (1928).

He later worked behind the camera, serving as assistant director on films such as *Ride Lonesome* (1959), *Pork Chop Hill* (1959), *How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying* (1967) and *Petulia* (1968), as well as episodes of *The Twilight Zone*. From the mid-1970s he was primarily a production manager at Walt Disney Productions, credited on titles including *The Million Dollar Duck* (1971), *The Shaggy D.A.* (1976), *The Cat from Outer Space* (1978) and *The Black Hole* (1979).
