Doolittle began his career on Broadway, appearing in the musical *The 1940's Radio Hour* (1979). His film roles include David McGeary in *Missing* (1982), Brun in *The Clan of the Cave Bear* (1986), Schenk in *RoboCop 2* (1990) and Ira Schecter in *The Distinguished Gentleman* (1992). Television credits include appearances in *21 Jump Street* (1987), *ER* (1995) and *Murder by Numbers* (2002). He also contributed additional written material to the animated feature *A Goofy Movie* (1995).
