## Biography

John Fay is a British television screenwriter and playwright. He began his television career writing for the Channel 4 soap opera *Brookside* before joining the writing staff of *Coronation Street*, where he contributed dozens of episodes and served as lead writer.

Fay created and wrote the 2007 ITV miniseries *Mobile*. He contributed episodes to *Clocking Off*, *Blue Murder*, *Robin Hood*, *Primeval* and *The Mill*, which he co-created. For *Torchwood* he wrote two episodes of the 2009 miniseries *Children of Earth* and one episode of *Miracle Day* (2011). He has also written for *Moving On* and the Netflix series *Medici*.

In 2005 Fay shared a BAFTA Television Award for Best Continuing Drama for his work on *Coronation Street*.
