## Biography

John Foreman was an American film producer. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, he served in the US Navy during the Second World War and later co-founded the Creative Management Agency, which became ICM. In the late 1960s he formed Newman-Foreman Productions with actor Paul Newman.

Foreman produced *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid* (1969), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, as well as *The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean* (1972), *The Mackintosh Man* (1973), *The Man Who Would Be King* (1975) and *Prizzi's Honor* (1985). He collaborated on four films with director John Huston and was nominated for a second Best Picture Oscar for *Prizzi's Honor*. He also served as vice president in charge of worldwide theatrical production at MGM/UA.

Foreman was married to actress and singer Linda Lawson from 1961 until his death. He died in Beverly Hills, California, in November 1992.
