## Biography

John Forgeham was an English actor. Born John Henry George Forgham on 14 May 1941 in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, he trained at the Birmingham School of Acting and received a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company from 1966 to 1972 and later founded the Globe Shakespeare Theatre in Sydney. His television roles included Jim Baines in Crossroads (1974–1978) and Frank Laslett in Footballers' Wives (2002–2004). Film appearances included Frank in The Italian Job (1969), Colonel Jorgensen in Sheena (1984), DCI John Shefford in Prime Suspect (1991), Max in Kiss of the Dragon (2001) and Sykes in Mean Machine (2001).

Forgeham died on 10 March 2017 in Worthing, West Sussex.
