John Herrera is a television writer and producer. He has worked extensively on the Hulu series *The Handmaid's Tale* (2017–2025), with credits including writer, teleplay, executive story editor, producer and supervising producer.

Herrera frequently collaborates with writing partner Nina Fiore. Their joint credits include episodes of *Blood Drive* (2017), *The Purge* (2018–2019), *Nightflyers* (2018), *Alphas* (2011–2012) and *Eureka* (2006–2012). Earlier in his career he served as a script coordinator on *Eureka*, *Californication* (2007) and *Sleeper Cell*. He co-wrote the screenplay for the feature film *Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase* (2019).

He received Primetime Emmy nominations in 2020 and 2021 for Outstanding Drama Series as a producer on *The Handmaid's Tale*, and won Writers Guild of America awards in 2018 for Dramatic Series and New Series for the same show.
