## Biography

John Holland (also credited as John Boggess or Harold Boggess) was an American actor and singer. Born Harold Boggess in Fremont, Nebraska, he adopted his grandfather's name as his stage name. He began appearing in Hollywood films in 1937 and later worked extensively in television, including episodes of Perry Mason, Wagon Train and Hawaiian Eye.

His film credits include the role of the Butler in *My Fair Lady* (1964), a part in *How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying* (1967) and an appearance in *Chinatown* (1974). On stage he performed in the Broadway production of *Peter Pan* (1954) and in the touring company of *The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial*. He trained as a baritone and gave concerts in addition to his acting work. Holland died in 1993.
