John Jay Moore was an American production designer and art director. Born on 22 February 1928 in Towanda, Pennsylvania, he studied drama at Syracuse University after military service. He began his career as a set and lighting designer on Broadway in the late 1960s, working on productions including *Fiddler on the Roof*, *Cabaret* and *A Little Night Music*, before moving into film and television in the 1970s.

Moore's film credits include art direction on *Klute* (1971), *The Wiz* (1978), *Sophie's Choice* (1982), *Wall Street* (1987) and *Black Rain* (1989). He served as production designer on *Sea of Love* (1989), *Cherry 2000* (1987), *Double Impact* (1991) and *The Cowboy Way* (1994). He died on 7 May 2018 in Ventura, California.
