## Biography

John Knight was a New Zealand-born director and producer who worked primarily in British television. Born in Auckland in 1919, he directed episodes of series including *The Avengers* (1961), for which he is credited with two episodes, *Out of This World* (1962) and *Armchair Theatre* (1956–1961).

He also produced episodes of *ITV Television Playhouse* and *Electrode 93* (1957). Knight was married to actress Brigid Lenihan. He died in 1967.
