## Biography

John Nathan-Turner was an English television producer. He served as the ninth and longest-serving producer of the BBC science fiction series *Doctor Who*, holding the role from 1980 until the series' cancellation in 1989.

He joined the BBC in the 1960s and first worked on *Doctor Who* in 1969 as a floor assistant. Nathan-Turner cast Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy as the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors respectively. After the series ended he produced the 1993 charity special *Doctor Who: Dimensions in Time*.
