John Newland (23 November 1917 – 10 January 2000) was an American television director, actor, producer and screenwriter. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he began his career as an actor in vaudeville and on stage and radio before serving in the US Army Air Corps during the Second World War.

Newland became best known as the host and director of the paranormal anthology series *One Step Beyond* (1959–1961). He later directed episodes of many series, including *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* (1964), *Star Trek* (1967), *Hawaii Five-O* (1970), *Night Gallery* (1970), *The Sixth Sense* (1972), *Don't Be Afraid of the Dark* (1973) and *Wonder Woman* (1975). He also produced several television movies.
