## Biography

John Patrick Lowrie is an American actor and voice actor. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he trained at the Indiana University School of Music and worked as a musician before turning to acting.

He is best known for his voice performances in video games, including the Sniper in *Team Fortress 2* and male citizens in *Half-Life 2*. He has voiced characters in *Dota 2* and other Valve titles. Since 2001, he has played Sherlock Holmes in the radio series *The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes*.

Lowrie has appeared in small live-action film roles, including as Mr. Sears in the 2025 period drama *Train Dreams*. He has been married to voice actor Ellen McLain since 1986.
