## Biography

John Peverall (1931–2009) was a British film producer and assistant director. He began working in film as an assistant director in 1958 and contributed to more than thirty productions through the mid-1970s, including *The Hound of the Baskervilles* (1959), *The Damned* (1962), *Khartoum* (1966) and *From Beyond the Grave* (1974). He later moved into production roles.

Peverall served as associate producer on *The Man Who Fell to Earth* (1976), *The Land That Time Forgot* (1974) and *Quadrophenia* (1979). He received a producer credit on *The Deer Hunter* (1978) and shared the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1979 with the other producers. He also worked as associate producer on the television series *Arthur of the Britons* and executive producer on *The Far Pavilions* (1984).
