## Biography

John Faro PiRoman (10 July 1951 – 11 March 2014) was a Cuban-born American television writer and playwright. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 and graduated from Georgetown University, where he participated in the Mask & Bauble Dramatic Society.

PiRoman wrote one episode of the medical drama series *St. Elsewhere* (1987). His other television credits include work on the soap opera *All My Children* (1998–2004), for which he received Writers Guild of America awards in 2001, 2002 and 2004, and episodes of the animated series *Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child* (1995–1997). He also wrote for PBS's *American Playhouse*.

As a playwright, his works include *Sons of Don Juan*, *The Palace of Amateurs*, *Holy Mary* and *Amerikanski Toileti*, produced in regional and off-Broadway theatres. He translated Anton Chekhov's *The Cherry Orchard* for stage.
