## Biography

John Pomeroy is an American animator, producer and writer. He began his career at Walt Disney Animation Studios in 1973 as a background artist and became a full animator the following year, working on *Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too* (1974).

In 1979 Pomeroy left Disney with Don Bluth, Gary Goldman and others to form Don Bluth Productions. He served as producer and contributed to the story adaptation of their first feature, *The Secret of NIMH* (1982). He later produced *An American Tail* (1986) and *The Land Before Time* (1988) at Sullivan Bluth Studios. Pomeroy returned to Disney in the 1990s as supervising animator on *Pocahontas* (1995) and worked on subsequent features including *Treasure Planet* (2002). He is also a sculptor who creates character busts for animators.
