John Rice is an American animation director and story artist. Born on 5 May 1970 in Peoria, Illinois, he studied at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles.

He began working in animation in the late 1980s and has directed episodes of *King of the Hill* (1997–), *Rick and Morty* (2013–2014), *Bob's Burgers* (2011) and other series. Rice co-directed *The Angry Birds Movie 2* (2019) and directed *Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe* (2022). He has also contributed storyboards and character designs to films including *The Simpsons Movie* (2007) and *The Angry Birds Movie* (2016).
