John Ridgely, also credited as John Huntington Rea, John Ridgeley and John Ridgley, was an American film character actor. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he studied at Stanford University before beginning his screen career in the mid-1930s.

He appeared in numerous Warner Bros. productions during the 1930s and 1940s. His best-known role was as the gangster Eddie Mars in *The Big Sleep* (1946). Other credits include *Arsenic and Old Lace* (1944), *Air Force* (1943) and *God Is My Co-Pilot* (1945).

After freelancing from 1948, Ridgely continued in supporting parts until leaving feature films in 1953. He then worked in summer theatre and television until his death in New York City in 1968.
