## Biography

John Stephens is an American television writer, producer and director. He graduated from Pomona College in 1994.

He wrote eight episodes of *Gilmore Girls* (2000) and served as co-producer on the series. His other television credits include writing and producing roles on *The O.C.* (2003), *Gossip Girl* (2007) and *Gotham* (2014), as well as directing episodes of several series.

Stephens is also the author of the children's fantasy trilogy *The Books of Beginning*, beginning with *The Emerald Atlas* (2011).
