John T. Murray was an Australian stage and film actor. Born in Melbourne in 1886, he began his career in vaudeville and appeared in Broadway productions including *The Passing Show of 1915* and *The Yankee Princess* (1922). He later moved into film work, with credits spanning the 1920s to the early 1940s.

Murray is credited in numerous Hollywood films, often in small or uncredited roles. These include *Lost Horizon* (1937) as Meeker, *Foreign Correspondent* (1940), *Mr. Deeds Goes to Town* (1936), *Murders in the Rue Morgue* (1932), *Boom Town* (1940) and *Broadway Melody of 1940* (1940).
