John Thomas is a cinematographer, also credited as John A. Thomas. He served as director of photography on the Whit Stillman film *Metropolitan* (1990).

His other feature credits include *Barcelona* (1994), *Freeway* (1996), *The Last Days of Disco* (1998), *Sex and the City* (2008) and *Sex and the City 2* (2010). He has worked extensively in television, including episodes of *Law & Order*, *The Big C* and *Younger* (2015–2019). Thomas has received Emmy nominations for his work.
