## Biography

John Tomerlin (1930–2014) was an American screenwriter and author. He wrote episodes for numerous television series from the late 1950s onwards, including *Wanted: Dead or Alive*, *Lawman* (eleven episodes) and *The Twilight Zone*.

He adapted Charles Beaumont's short story "The Beautiful People" for the 1964 *Twilight Zone* episode "Number 12 Looks Just Like You". His other credits include episodes of *Thriller*, *Richard Diamond, Private Detective* and *S.W.A.T.* (1975), and the screenplay for the 1973 television film *The Picture of Dorian Gray*.

Tomerlin studied television and radio broadcasting at the University of Southern California and began working as a full-time freelance writer in 1956. He also wrote novels and collaborated with Beaumont on *Run From the Hunter* (1957, under the pseudonym Keith Grantland).
