## Biography

John Warburton was a British actor who appeared in numerous Hollywood films from the 1930s to the 1960s and in television series. He began his career on the stage, making his Broadway debut in *Bird in Hand* (1930). His screen work started with *Secrets of the French Police* (1932).

Warburton is known for his role as Edward Marryot in the film *Cavalcade* (1933). Other film credits include *Saratoga Trunk* (1945), *King Rat* (1965) and *From the Terrace* (1960). On television he appeared in episodes of *Perry Mason* (1957), *Gunsmoke* (1955) and *Star Trek* (1966), as well as numerous episodes of *Fireside Theater*.

He trained at Oxford University and served in the British military. Warburton died in Sherman Oaks, California, in 1981.
